Our 2019 i-pace qualifies for H514 buyback but we keep getting run around that they are calling each owner and we just have to wait. We had the 80% charge limit fix but with storing it outside garage in Chicago winter we at best can get a 150 miles which makes it useless to us. We can’t charge it as the charger’s location in garage doesn't reach outside. We had to buy another car. We of course have to insure it sitting there and have to maneuver around it to get other cars in/out of garage. 20 year+ jaguar owners - very disappointed in the complete lack of customer service. Has anyone actually gotten a call?

Hello,

Sorry to hear about your situation but yes you have to wait. In my understanding they have a small team managing this and they are working a queue juggling everyone's various preferences. There is a pre-existing recall campaign that they are still working on and I'm not sure if both campaigns are running concurrently or sequentially. Either way unfortunately you will have to wait for your turn to come up. In my case it took 5 months before I learned that both of my buyback cases (2) were approved and it was 9 months from opening my case when I heard from the case manager. I did my best to be patient during the waiting around but I did call them periodically to check in on the status of "my file" from time to time during that period. If it helps, my H484 buyback wraps up this Saturday when I will surrender my car. Good Luck!

I just keep driving mine like nothing is different. Mostly self limit to 80% but if I need to get somewhere it goes right to 100. Use the OEM low power cord and an extension cord to charge outside if needed.
Everyone seems to be focused on the buyback... I am far more interested in a battery replacement as offered to several already as an option.

Hello, 2019 owner in NCal and have been informed by Jaguar service that I could call them for the buyback. Has anyone done this? And I see some on these threads are getting new battery packs, does anyone know how this is done?
So the long story is that I love this car. I had a number of issues with charging, the traction battery delay code, something dripping onto the battery charger, making it not charge, gearbox fault indicator, all of which was replaced / repaired while still under warranty. My car has now passed the warranty and I can’t seem to find another EV that I like as much as this one. This car has a lot of issues if you just look at the forums, but so does every other EV if you go to their forums. I don’t want to go back to an ICE. For others who loved their jaguar I pace would you replace it with a current 2024 model? Do you think that there would just be another handful of problems requiring you to go to Jaguar Service every six months or so?
On a sidenote, I went through yesterday for the H514 update and three people that work there greeted me by name. No other person in their waiting room was greeted by name. I don’t know what that says about my I pace and me.

I was an owner in Norcal also. Per my own dealership advice I initiated a lemon law buyback one year ago. There is a formula in California based on mileage that must be strictly adhered to. I can’t say much more other than it worked out after a long, long process. One of the main reasons that I think I was accepted, other than the myriad of problems I had, and specifically with the battery, was that I was waiting for three or four months, with no fix in sight, and the dealership was not able to provide me any estimate of when I would get resolution when I initiated the process. Good luck, hope it works out, and FYI, I am a happy owner of a 2023 Lucid Air Touring.

I don't think anyone has been called about the H514 buy-back. The people talking about starting a buyback are either a) either covered under the H441 recall or b) have undergone a lemon-law buyback for other defects.

People are also posting things their dealer or the frontline Jaguar customer service team is telling them as fact which is causing a lot of confusion. The dealers don't have inside information at this point. The Jaguar customer service people have promised many different things about buyback timeline that didn't happen and they are not the ones handling the buyback.

At this point, the only thing you can assume is that you will be contacted sometime in the future about the buyback via telephone, letter, carrier pigeon or telegram.

Where did you see this? Best I found was that we will receive a letter around Feb 7th?
The February 7th mailing is for H529 which applies to cars that received a botched H514 update. It has nothing to do with getting notified about a buyback.

This is correct and I agree with you. Unless or until you hear something from JLR NA, I'd assume the person doesnt know what they are talking about. The retailer where I bought my car tried to force me to take a 2021 that had been sitting on their lot for over 6 months telling me "that was the remedy." I'm said I'm not doing anything until I hear from my case manager and I'm so glad I did. They were pissed but I could care less.

I got turned down for a california buyback. I've had various issues over the years, including three times I believe with traction battery issues. two of those times I was left stranded. Alas they have denied it under CA lemon law, so now i'm just waiting, without any sense of timing, and a new president who is elimination $7500 of tax incentives, so Jaguar's delays will likely cost me that too. what a bust. Here is the message:

"I hope this finds you well. Due to the nature of this case, we want to ensure proper documentation on both ends and kindly request that *all communication pertaining to your request be *via email. As advised in my prior emails, after evaluating this matter in good faith, Consumer Affairs does not believe that your vehicle qualifies for repurchase under the California Lemon Law. However, you will be contacted shortly by a Specialist Team, who will provide you with further information and discuss the available options for the H514 recall.

We do not have a specific time frame for when you can expect to be contacted, but please be assured that the team is working diligently to address all matters as quickly as possible. At this time, this case has been closed, but once again, please do await contact from the Specialist Team."

What exactly were the issues with your car? Your details may be helpful to others planning to take this approach.

I hope you detailed it in the claim better than "including three times I believe with traction battery issues".

Thanks for your replies. To answer a couple question.

1) I did not provide extensive details. I was hoping to get to a quick number from them because I wanted to take advantage of the $7500 EV lease incentive before it disappears. I did at least caveat in what I sent that this was only partial information and could provide additional details if needed. The reality is that they have all the service documents from the dealership. I did mention in my response that I could provide additional details if further discovery or involvement of counsel was needed.

2) I responded directly to Jaguar, after reaching out to them by phone. i didn't actually specifically request a lemon law claim. they put me into that track, apparently. I was trying to get to a number from them for the general buy back for the vehicle. Coincidentally, I also did not request the recall be performed (the one that limited my range to 80% or less). The dealer did it without my authorization.

3) I also sent them the original contract. Vandy, your experience is very close to my initial experience with them.

It's tempting to reach out to a lawyer now that they've opened (and closed) that can of worms. Thanks PB for your details. If they get me a reasonable number, quickly, then I may just accept that. But I don't want to wait months and months, and what a shame so many people will potentially lose out on the EV incentive $$. In the meantime, I've got a car that has tanked in value because of all this, and which is effectively giving me about 150 miles of range in the cooler months. ugh.

Ha! I just called 1-800-452-4827, pushed option 9 and got a error message "no routes found". I presume this is from the voice carrier for the phone system.

Tried again and got 1 step further. I was transferred to another auto-attendant which had a "press option 3 for H514 I-Pace recall". I pushed 3 and it was another test recording saying the call was successfully transferred to "Morely's IVR system from Jaguar Land Rover" and read back a toll-free number, 833-221-9788? Maybe they are in the process of setting up a new call center using morleybpo.com for these requests and that 833-221-9788 number is a direct line into it.

Interesting--It looks like MorleyBPO handles vehicle reacquisition and recalls for many companies and were involved in the Bolt buybacks. Hopefully this means that things will be smoother than if JLR handled it themselves.

My first contact with Jag customer service was the middle of November. Other than a few standard form email replies I haven’t heard anything about the buyback… only that they will get to me. I’ve been concerned about losing the government stimulus payment and started looking around for a new car. My IPace is completely paid off, the last thing I wanted was car payments but this is the hand we’ve been dealt. I ended up leasing a 2024 Audi Q8 ETron. Audi is offering $9500 off in addition to the $7500 from the feds… A beautiful car that drives very well and is loaded with the latest of all things tech. Stated range is 290 miles and what I really like is the sunroof opens. The IPace is such a fun car, but the Audi has its pros as well. In the meantime my Jag sits in the street, sad at this situation.

Does the Audi Q8 E-Tron qualify for the $7500 Federal EV Tax Credit?

Just to be clear, leasing companies claim the $7,500 tax credit as an EV fleet purchase and pass it on to the lessee, but an individual cannot claim the tax credit for a purchase of an EV unless final assembly of the vehicle occurs in the US.

It's March 4th and I just got off the phone with Jaguar National Customer Service: 1-800-452-4827.

They verified my information including home address and phone number. Now that I have called they created a case number for my vehicle and I should expect to hear back from them with a phone call within the next couple weeks. They said that I need to get paperwork ready to send to them when they do call. This paperwork includes: a copy of my vehicle's registration, copy of my driver's license, a 10 day loan payoff which includes the daily interest printed on bank letterhead, and Finance agreement with that bank. Obviously if you do not have a loan on the vehicle just worry about the first two requirements.
They said I would either have to email that to someone or possibly bring that with me to the dealership when they schedule me to drop the vehicle off. They didn't mention in this process when they would come up with a buyback price...I would assume it would be after they inspect the vehicle at the dealership to verify mileage and condition. They did say that once I take my vehicle to the dealership, it stays there, so say your goodbye's when you drop it off. Who knows if having your vehicle cleaned inside and out will increase the amount they offer, but it couldn't hurt.
They also gave me an email if you would want to email any questions rather than call: recallH514@jaguarlandrover.com

Hope this helps.

I have been working with the team for Re- purchase of my Jaguar for a little over three weeks now. I have been advised during all communication that I should be using email so everything is documented. Today I received an email asking me for a copy of my purchase agreement, drivers license, Current registration, and title of the vehicle if owned. I submitted that immediately and have received a response that I will be offered a buyback settlement in a few days and will be given directions to deliver my vehicle to the dealership I have named as my preference. I have been informed that buyouts are being based on Kelley Blue Book values as of October 2024. The email states this date is being used as it is deemed the fairest to customers. I was previously notified that my vehicle does not qualify under California lemon law rules.

I'm glad they're at least willing to use historical KBB values. Did they give a specific date in October?

#47 ·
You have to call Kelly Blue Book customer service and request a historical report:

How can I get the value of my car on a past date?

Occasionally we get a request for the value of a particular vehicle at a particular date in history. This request may be for litigation, estate planning, taxes, etc. The fee for a Valuation Certified Report is $35 per value. To request a Valuation Certified Report, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-258-2005, option 1. This service usually has a turnaround time of 3-5 business days. We usually send the Report via email, but we can also mail it if requested.

So after a month of waiting (I love the car and delayed since I wasn’t sure about giving it up) for someone to reach out to me, I ended up emailing Jaguar and they gave me the 833-221-9788 number to call. I spoke with someone 3/14/2025 who said I would be emailed asking for my drivers license and title and registration and that I should have those documents available. She also asked for my preferred dealership for returning the car. Will update as I hear from them but hoping for the 3 week timeline the last 2 posts seemed to receive.

I just got the email requesting DL and registration / title on 3/19. Confirmed I was interested in the buyback. They are using October 2024 KBB values.
