My 3 month 4G free trial expired today 3/17/20. So I would not have a lapse in service, I pre-paid for 1 year with AT&T about a week or 2 ago.

So, today my 4G died. Same day as free trial paid by Jaguar ended. I spent over 1 hour on the phone with AT&T, and even had them call me back after speaking to their specialists (sure!). They said I had to go to the dealer, so they could re-set the "modem". Spent another 30+ mins at the dealer, and they could not get it to work either. They told me to pull the SIM card out, and get my $200 back from AT&T ?

So, AT&T killed my 4G. They cannot get it to work, Jaguar cannot get it to work. SIM card in the trash and NO 4G. Let's hope the car will continue to function perfectly, as it has been.

I love my Jaguar In Control Remote for climatizing when parked and before work....I used it 6-7 days a week. Any chance no 4G in the car will affect this?

Arg, how frustrating! The car-essential functions though are communicated through a second SIM card. Have you logged onto Remote and looked whether your last trips (uh, journeys), are recorded? Similarly, preconditioning does not rely on the AT&T SIM; it's through the other card. The AT&T contract is only for infotainment.

When you say "died," you mean you get that capital G with a slash symbol over it? If so you may just need to reset communications settings on your I-PACE. If I recall correctly you have to push the assistance button until it flashes yellow then let it cycle through or something along those lines.

I never bought the ATT service and never had any issues except some of the additional infotainment systems (like the weather app) did not work. As others have said, the important things are covered by the internal SIM.

Thanks everyone. @bruintoo There is no more 4G or 3G showing and not even the G with the line thru it. Just three --- moving left to right. Jaguar says they killed the 4G, and they have no idea how to get it back, or what AT&T did. Just frustrating.

My trial also expired recently. I did not bother to renew it. I did try and register with AT&T but ran into errors on the AT&T end - didn't recognize car vin or something. Gave up. You could try putting in the sim from your phone and see if you get connected? Not sure if there is anything different about phone plans vs car plans. I find the sim card not the easiest thing to get in and out in the car. Android Auto gives my the functions I otherwise was barely using before - news, navigation, weather...

I don't think it is quite so straightforward. I think the second "user" SIM does double-duty. Even without a plan, the second SIM provides the traffic and other functionality that you get with your "InControl" Pro Services account. Anyone who removes the SIM or turns it off in the settings loses traffic updates. Turning it back on, even without an AT&T plan gets traffic updates. So don't throw that SIM away! Even dead it is not so dead.

I lost my 3 month trial with the AT&T SIM in February.
I was concerned I would lose traffic and the ability to search for a business through the Navigation system.
The only parts I'm missing without the SIM is the weather, news updates and the ability to live stream Spotify through the online system
I didn't see any benefits with the AT&T SIM

I never got my full 3 months of AT&T data because my dealer had to re-register my I-Pace on the InControl website. My SIM card was dead. Got a Google Fi data SIM card and never looked back.

Super strange. AT&T cancelled my 1 year pre-paid 4G contract and refunded me in full (funds received). BUT....now my 4G is back up and working perfectly :-O Uhhhhh, Thanks AT&T. LOL

This is the quirkiest car I have ever owned and I love it!!! :D

What was the solution, Deutsch? Was it the sim or did the dealer fix it?
Hey Curt...dealer didn't do anything! I just put the SIM card back in the center console slot. For a few days it was dead, I would just get the --- where it used to show 4G. Then, all of a sudden the 4G came back. For free. LOL Shhhhhhh!! ;)

You may be a beneficiary of a 60 day plan requested by the FCC.

Quoted from another source, the FCC asked the telecom industry to take a "Keep Americans Connected Pledge",

The pledge, which is for the next 60 days (from March 13), asks that companies not terminate service for residential or small business customers, waive any late fees incurred due to the economic effects of the virus, and open access to public Wi-Fi hotspots to “any American who needs them.”
