The latest version of ABRP (4.0.42) notes state it is at beta stage of Android Auto implementation. I have not tried it.

Also backed AAWireless on Indiegogo. I'm #16185 so I'm hoping that I'll get my unit late May/early June. I'll check back once I've had a chance to test it with the I-Pace.

Sounds good and I look forward to it. I only got one, but if it works out, i'll jump on another unit for my wife's car. She has historically used Android Auto more than I have.

 

Another route planner/navigation product that now works with AA is called Sygic.
It has an EV mode.You can set charging capabilities (max AC charging capacity, connectors, vehicles, max DC charging capacity).
It does have autozoom to adjust the map based on vehicle speed.
There's an option for it to provide head-up display (phone on dash and reflect it on windscreen). Not while in AA mode.
And a lot of other features.

I have no association with the company. It does do a decent job of calculating routes. I haven't actually used it yet with AA.

That's interesting input.
I have Sygic subscription on my other car which has aftermarket Android unit in it.
And yes, it has AA support for a while already.
Will check EV mode next time I'm driving it (not soon probably, lol). But something tells me ABRP is still better pick.

 

Wanted to give an update (one year later). I had nothing but trouble with the AAWireless unit and ended up selling it on eBay. I've since purchased a Motorola MA1 and it's been flawless for wireless AA. It looks like it's out of stock currently, but it's worth picking up if you can find one.

Stupid question, but is MY21 released in March or September in 2021 in the uk Do you know?

(The UK's registration numbers for 2021 were 21 for cars registered between March and August 2021, and 71 for cars registered between September 2021 and February 2022. The numbers on a car's registration )

And are there other key MY dates I should be aware of (different supplier of batteries from LG?) or anything else key?

Hoping there is a thread on this somewhere listing all the specs by year?

Registration numbers are meaningless. The 10th character of the VIN determines model year.

Only LGES supplied the traction batteries for all of the cars. Manufactured in Poland.

MY21 introduced Pivi Pro to the cars and a lot of other changes (modules, wiring, etc.).

 

Build date would be more useful - on US cars there is a sticker inside the driver's door. Even then you have no idea when the components ( i.e. the battery) were manufactured.

 

Sorry. Confused. So if I buy a MY21 car, did they start making them on 1/1/21 until 31/12/21? Or part way through, or does the "21" bare no reference to the year it was manufactured?

Model year for a car is generally built from May to May although some have stated it is March to March for Jaguar.
Example: model year 2021 was built March/May of 2020 to March/May of 2021.

 

Ah. This is very helpful indeed. Thanks. So the "21" of "my21" refers to the year they stopped making them, not started.

For the UK this would mean getting a "20" or "70" plate car. Thanks so much.
