If changing inlet size/ form would get rid of the whine I would be happy. Easy to test by putting a fine mesh over the intake and see what happens.

Wouldn't changing the air flow setting be easier? I find that for a few minutes when first starting up my cold I-Pace, the same whining sound is heard, but it disappears once the ducts/fan/car warms up and the climate system throttles back the air flow to more leisurely levels. I believe it to be a simple resonance issue at that particular fan speed and temp.

"designed wrong.." in a 100k$ car is, for a lack of a better word, defective. As I understand that things can go wrong, the unwillingness by Jaguar to do something avout it is just not worth of a premium brand. Will replace my first and unfortunately (for multiple reasons) only Jaguar for a Genesis GV60 this year, hence the problem is time limited for me. Just sad, because the Ipace is very nice car after all.

Yep, this should be fixable. 17yrs with BMW , it has its own problems but they will be solved, somehow.
