Not quite the same route as my previous 800+ mile trip. Road construction had completed on part of the route and I took a different route for part of the return.
I traveled from home to a Chargepoint 50kW charger (CP #1) and charged to 100%. I didn't keep track of the energy used for this 17 mile segment.
The next leg was to an Electrify America charger (EA #1) site. Temperatures went from 70s to upper 80s during the travel.
The next leg was to an EA charger site (EA #2) with temperatures in the 90s (mostly 95 with 97 appearing for parts of it).
The next leg was to my destination, local driivng and then driving to an EA site (EA #3) between EA #1 and EA #2. Temps from EA #2 to destination were in the upper 80s but destination to EA #3 were in the 70s.
The next leg was back to EA #1 with temps from a different Chargepoint 50kW charger (CP #2) because it was shaded in a car park (parking garage).
The final leg was back home.
CP #1 gave the usual 40-43 kWh rate until the expected tapering. No issues.
EA #1 visits had no issues except interruptions caused by my own doing.
EA #2 had some issue. I started at the charger that I used last year, but it was only charging at 27kWh and after 15 minutes had only added 6.5kWh. I moved to a different charger and it immediately started charging at 102kWh rate but dropped down from there by the time the S0C had reached 38%. Out of curiosity, I let it keep charging to 96%. I was watching the charging rate and it had tapered to mid 30s kWh when suddenly it dropped into the 20s and car's cooling fan speed dropped. I stopped at that point.
EA #3 ramped up slowly to charging about 79kWh rate, instead of starting high and dropping, and according to the app was a bit erratic in charging rates but I let it go. The overall charging rate seemed within reason.
CP #2 started off charging at 48-49.x kWh with 50.0 being observed intermittently at this labeled 50kWh charger. No issues.
Home charging cost is a guess at 6 cents per kWh. My current rate is 5 and fraction for the electricity but there are a bunch of other fees, etc., that would have to be factored in to this small portion of my overall usage.
I reset trip B in the car before starting out from home and at the end it showed this:
Heat definitely shortened the range. I was driving in ECO mode for almost all the journey though I did miss setting that for a few miles after a few stops, but it wasn't a lot of miles.
I kept the smart climate engaged with temp set at 74F unless outside temp was lower and then I lowered the inside temp to avoid any heating.
I did sign up for EA's Plus plan to take advantage of only $4 for the month instead of $1 per charging event along with getting the lower billing rates. Per EA's billing I saved $42.30 by being a member. Adding in the $4 fee, this trip cost $100 (rounded) for fuel.
