4 mild dislikes

Too many Likes, don't know where to start.

Dislikes are always more interesting:
So far....

1. The Blue P that is lit on my dashboard at low speed. Thought I had the parking break on; for whatever reason couldn't find it in the manual but google helped.
2. View in rear-view mirror... new that going in, who looks behind them anyway.
3. Not able to choose to NOT lock the charging port. If i complete a charge at work, I'm fine with co-workers unplugging... now I have to wonder down and unlock... or as I just realized, use the App to unlock the entire car, while co-worker unplugs me. Not ideal.

4. I seem unable to park well. I swear to got I'm always on the white line and/or at a 15 degree angle.

1. yes, many of us hope the ability to turn that "P" off will come in the future...
2. also hope JLR would allow full screen rear camera use at speed (it shuts off around 15mph)
3. another wishlist upgrade item
4. new car, takes a little acclimatization...

One owner here *ahem* @sciencegeek *ahem* is able to disable the Blue P on the instrument panel because in his/her I-Pace, the option to disable "Parking assistance" under "Driver assistance" submenu. I don't think anybody else has been able to do that.
I have a hard time parking as well - the reverse lines don't seem to match up and I'm always closer than I think I am - I've already curbed one of y 22" rims... Argh...
360° View is SUPPOSED to help parking, but for some ungodly reason they disabled it for Reverse. I hope they fix that. That was really disappointing since I expect 360 view in a luxury car and I'm used to having it. With the I-Pace, you put in N, look at the 360, reverse some, put in N, back some more, rinse and repeat while it's chirping at you. Ugh.

The I-Pace really should have had a digital rearview mirror option, again a luxury staple, or allow you to use the rear camera on the center console while driving. I bought an aftermarket one, but didn't like it.

I have had many cars with 'autoparking' features, but never bothered with them yet. I suppose I should someday especially when the 360 view is hosed.

The thing about these complaints is they would cost virtually nothing to fix. It actually cost them more time to skrew it up. Just delete the lines that check for gear position in CAMERA function. Done. Finished. Shorter code. Fixes both parking visibility and poor rear visibility while driving in under 1 manhour of labor.

When I reverse, I get the rear camera and I have the little picture telling me what's around me- 360 degrees. Do you not get that? I just wish the little picture was a live image instead of a graphic.
On a first release vehicle, I expected a few 'quirks'. Frankly I personally have experience zero real 'problems', more of what I think most of us would agree is 'oddity' (turning off 360 camera in Reverse, not allowing rear view camera when in motion (full screen rear view mirror?), car shutting completely OFF when in park and opening the driver door, etc.). I don't pass judgement on these because all are EASY software fixes. The real issue will be whether or not JLR invests the time and energy (not much, but the effort needs a champion and so far no one has reached out to me - even by email - not made it obvious where to report such "issues") to solicit owner feedback and stomp out all these idiosyncrasies through OTA updates (assuming OTA gets enabled, soon?) If they were smart they'd be reviewing these forums daily and reaching out when productive to do so.

sgtpeper - I, too, get the 'radar band' graphics when backing up, giving some indication of objects surrounding the car. I like it, but with the available cameras they could have done better.

The weird thing is that on the prototype I borrowed for a weekend before purchasing, I did find some weird way that when I was in reverse I got the reverse camera AND a 360 real-time image of the car. So they did have it working at some point in development...

You'd have to drive a luxury car with a 360 camera. Ultrasonic sensors are not very good comparatively speaking, they cannot ID the object or it's exact location, and sometime miss it entirely. Their distancing has poor resolution. Once you get a good car with 360 and All Wheel Steering, everything else becomes a full sized van to park.
I wish they would have gone for the real 360 3d cameras that BMW, MB and Audi are using now...
I find it odd that the rear view mirror is flat on the top edge and the bottom is curved. This while looking out the rear window with a curve on the top and flat on the bottom. Mirror always seems upside down.
I thought the same thing!
This is what I see in 360

Not sure if I am misunderstanding what you mean by 360 in reverse. See the attached picture.
In Reverse (either moving or stationary), I see the guideline (left image), the 360 overhead view (middle image showing parking space), and the collision sensors with the graphic showing distance to an object.

There is a setting while in parking assist that you can set - I don't remember how at the moment.

Are you describing something different?

That's a view I can't seem to generate. The 360 BE view is missing on mine, nor can I pick it, it's grayed out.
This weekend, I'll check the settings to see how I got there. The default view did not include the 360, so I definitely had to set it.
Yes! That's what I got the prototype to do!

I can not seem to get my actual car to do this.

Please let us know!

This is not intuitive because there isn't a straight path to camera settings, so I'll step through the instructions and attach some pictures
1) With car On and in Park, select the Camera icon from the bottom infotainment buttons
2) While in Camera view, select the Settings (two gears) icon from the bottom of the infotainment system
3) You should now see an option for Camera Settings, select Camera Settings.
4) Mine will show Parking Guidance = On,, semi-auto camera view = On. Select the Default Camera View selection = List
5) Set your defaults. I have the orientation set for Portrait and 360 Camera. (your default will have None selected above the 360 camera). The picture I have associated with this has the setting off as I wanted to check toggling off and on to be certain.

Woah, that's awesome. I'll be home on Sunday night and will check this out immediately.

NOW, I just need to find a way to get Sat radio to display the band name when you aren't in the media page :)
