I drove to my nearest CCS2 site which is Baker, California to test update 19A. Baker is equipped with ABB 350kW chargers which were brought online in December and I tested them back when it opened.
It is no faster at peak with 19A than it was with the original 18C? software as delivered in November. Starting at 9%, it accepted 58.26 kW in 45 min or 77.7 kW/hr, which is 74%. Doing the numbers in my head, I knew I wasn't faster, I did not bother recording numbers over 74% since I didn't need to start a second session. It began at a 68 kW rate and ended at 62 kW rate. Close to linear up to 75% I suppose for now.
It was 81 kW average at 15-53% calculated, like above, 77.7 kW average for 45 minutes in 97°F heat. About the same when it was colder outside, IIRC 45°F.
What is different:
When you NAV somewhere, and it thinks you might not make it, a screen will pop up asking if you want to see chargers that aren't on your route. And it will always try to aim you at a charger when it doesn't think you will make it.
Then a 'new to me bug'. An Insufficient Power to Charge message which has nothing to do with anything.
The menus for selecting what kind of Charging Stations to display have an improved format (under Settings in NAV), and actually work sometimes.
I do not know about 19A2 aka S19A_19.11.4 which I'm guessing means 4/11/2019. It won't SOTA to my car even though TOPIx lists my car as ready for it. Nor am I sure the S19 updates have anything to do with charging rates themselves. They do affect how charging information and settings are handled.
