History
Corvair enthusiast since 1959, owner since 1964. Autocrossed Corvairs from 1965-2017 with time out for military service, USMC 1966-69. Last Corvair was owned since 1996. Sold in 2017 to make room for a Tesla Model 3. Hope to purchase an I Pace instead.

Modifications

Drivetrain
Stock turbo engine rated at 180 BHP with 265 lb/ft torque. Modified to accept roller camshaft with roller rocker arms, Garrett turbo set at 20 psi wastegate, blow off valve, safeguard computer (monitors engine detonation and adjusts engine timing accordingly). Custom intake and exhaust system. SDS EFI system.
Dyno results 260 wheel horsepower and 300 lb/ft torque ( measured at wheels)
Interior
"Racing" bucket seats. Extra gauges (stock- tach, cyl. head temp, speedometer, fuel, clock, vacuum/pressure gauge) oil pressure and temp, air/fuel ratio, larger vacuum/pressure, electric speedometer and new tach along with dual cyl head temp gauges. Also, knock sensor gauge and hand held programmer for the EFI CPU. Gauges are all VDO except for speedometer and tach (Vintage USA).

Suspension
Stock 1965 Corvair suspension with poly bushings, heim joint lower control arms(rear axle), Flaming River quick steering box, collapsible steering column with reproduced 63 Corvette , telescopic steering column. Custom front and rear anti-sway bars.
Wheel and Tire
14X 7 Minilite Sport wheels with 245/50/14 tires. Autocross tires: 245/40/15 front and 275/35/15 rear Hoosier A7 DOT. 15X8.5 front wheels, 15X10 rear
