What's the point of "Keyless Entry" if I have to unlock the charger???

So, forgive me if I'm pointing out the obvious...
But does it make sense that I have a vehicle with keyless entry but I have to dig out the key fob to unlock the charger? Couldn't the charger lock recognize the key fob, too?
Anyone know if this could be addressed in a software update?

Mine unlocks when the driver door unlocks. Under what circumstance doesn't yours?

I’ll go as far as saying there should be a saying in the US for not locking the charger cable, as here there is no danger of cable theft unlike Europe.

It would be nice for that feature to be programmable, that's for sure.
First day I got my car, I didn't know how to unplug it!!!
You get used to it pretty quick though.
With the Volts, I had to remember to unlock before unplugging because it will set off the alarm. It defaults to Alarm On, but can be programmed Off.

Definitely a first-world problem.

Lock your car when you leave it by hitting the button on the driver's door handle. Then unlock it the same way as you walk up to the car.

But yeah, I wish it didn't lock at all. I've thought of disabling it physically somehow, but that's more effort than just hitting the button on the keyfob as I walk up. That also has the added benefit of letting the car fully boot up.

Unfortunately, there are places where people will unplug your car to charge theirs if you've gone off a nearby restaurant (for example) while you think your car is charging. As long as the cable reaches to their car, they don't care about yours. You could return to find your car in a spot for EVs while charging but it isn't plugged in. Other EV owners who drive up might think you're being inconsiderate and just using the parking spot just because you wanted to park and not because you needed to charge. I've seen a few "polite" people post on Plugshare "I unplugged your car..." when the victim cars don't lock the connector and they wanted to charge.

Or there are people who would unplug it as a "prank."

The charging equipment, on the car and the charger, can be damaged by the sudden disconnect if charging is in progress too.

Yes but in other environment, like at work where we share, I am stopping others from plugging in even if I leave my car unplugged.

Would it be so hard to unlock when fully charged????
We need a USA version of software that addresses this.

Keyless entry fail on driver's door

My keyless entry works on all 3 doors except driver's door. Any advice appreciated. I've set up global unlock for all doors with single push on key fob btw.

Garage
I'd love a "garage mode" that knows when you are home and the car is unlocked that the gun can be removed without unlocking. Maybe this is also a safety feature???
Another idea... if you are in garage mode and you hit 100%, the gun can be removed without unlocking?
