discount on the price of I-pace

Hi guys, I'd like to know if you were able to negotiate on the I-pace price and if they gave any discount in US or Canada . A friend of mine got a 3% off on the MRSP price in Illinois. Thank you

your friend is most likely lying, there are more USA customers for I-Pace then there are USA I-Paces, and JLR dealers are not discounting I-Pace at all, as a matter of fact, many are asking for additional markup on the cars that come in without an order. I-Pace only has about a 4% markup is the other reason I know that no dealers are giving a regular customer 3% off. That would be foolish... I have heard of a couple dealers that have been trading allocations.

When I was bored this weekend I looked at Autotrader and pulled all the I Pace's up for sale. There were 73 in total from what I saw at that time. Most of the listings had the car still yet to arrive at the dealer.
Today I did some random speculative calls to various dealers listing cars inbound in the next few days.
None of them are coming off MSRP. Most are adding on somewhat ridiculous aftermarket items such as, paint protection, Jag mud flaps, Jag storage organizers, Jag etc. to just increase profit. Most dealers seem to think all the I Pace's will be sold within a few days of hitting their dealership's. I have to agree.
I especially know that dealers in Illinois are not negotiating off MSRP as this is where I grew up and still have family back there. I had them price the I-Pace there vs. AZ and neither are coming off MSRP even for previous Jag owners.

Several weeks ago, my dealer complained out loud to me, a customer, about the paltry dealer markup. Said something like "I have to spend 10 grand* installing a charger and I'm barely making any money on this car as it is." To be sure, he loves the car, but the economics for him personally aren't great. I didn't get the sense he was making any of that up as a negotiating tactic.

That said, I'll find out if there's any price flexibility in about 4 hours. I pick mine up today at 10AM mountain time. So stoked...

*I don't remember exactly how much he said it was costing him for the charger, but it was something like that.

I worked with 2 dealers in Quebec, no bulging from the MSRP.

I'll be stopping by my dealer this afternoon. I'm presently a Jaguar owner. I'll see if there is any friend's and family discounts ( Ha Ha!) Suppose to have an 11/23/18 delivery. Ill check in later today (east coast nj).

Back in 2011 receiving one of the first LEAFs there were several dealers giving $1,000 discount on an order that took almost a year to fill. I guess times have changed. Might be the Tesla effect of moving to fixed pricing so we don't always feel ripped off like when buying a more common vehicle.
It would certainly grind on me if the dealer wants some flimsy add-on or ADM.

Which dealer did you end up going through with your purchase? Looks like Stevinson had a couple coming in soon that I wanted to go check out in person since we were out of town when they had it around September. I'm also interested in the pricing flexibility as well but our current lease isn't up until next summer so I hoping they'll be some incentives by then since the E-Tron should be available by that time for some pricing competition.
