Estimated Range

Looking at the Canadian Jaguar site, the new I-Pace is expected to have a range greater than 354km on a single charge which is around 220 miles. That's great as it'll be even better than the mass produced Bolt and with that Jaguar performance.

Don't forget about regen systems which could potentially give us another 15-20% range at best. There will be very few people with range concerns since majority of buyers live in city centers or suburbs.

Really hoping to see an even higher mileage from the i-Pace. 220 miles is amazing for the current market, but by the time the I-Pace is ready to go on sale the electric car market may have advanced even more and leave the Bolt range benchmark behind.

Well part of that is predicated on the battery they use among other things, but that's where it starts. Being a component like that, a possibility of range going up from what we currently know is very possible. But at the same time what really matters is the sort of range the average person realistically needs daily and even weekly and most EV's these days get you enough, buying decisions in this market is more on the brand than range.

It's one thing to look at it as "only 220 miles" when comparing it to others that provide around the same range if not more. But.. now look at it as 220 miles with 400hp and 516lb-ft of torque and compare that to the others. Doesn't seem so bad anymore? Either way, the 220 mile range is more than enough for the majority of people going to buy this. Many more aspects to look at other than just the range of it. Overall as a package, it's great.

I didn't take into account the I-Pace's specs which I thought were still unknown. Where did you hear 400hp and 516lb-ft of torque? That would be amazing if it could achieve the same if not better mileage than the Bolt while outperforming it on the roads.

That's a lot faster than the Model X which has a time of 7.98 seconds and even faster than the Model S P85D. If Jaguar can deliver at a reasonable price, I'm sure some people who couldn't afford a Tesla would rush over for one.

The P85d has a 0-60mph (approximate 100km/h) of 3.2 seconds and starts at about $73k. That thing is crazy fast. The P100d are pushing that 2.5 range.

and to think that's from factory which almost always is set to a safe threshold, don't know what tuning ability will allow us to do and if we can even do it, but i'll be looking into how people are able to extract more power.
