Opinion on Meridian Quality?

For those having taken delivery, any opinion on radio quality? Thanks!

Actually been driving a 2019 LR RR Velar loaner car while my wife's 2018 LR RR Velar is in the shop. This loaner has the same 825w Meridian Surround system as my upcoming I-Pace HSE, so I've been playing with it for the past few days. It's a phenomenal sound system; much better in comparison with the std. 380w Meridian sound system in my wife's Velar. In fact, my ears tell me that this system blows away the "Blose" (I mean Bose) sound system I had in my Porsche Macan Turbo. Apparently, the British Meridian auto sound systems are some of the best in the world, up there with B & W, Burmeister, Krell and a couple other high-end systems.

Meridian sound quality is brilliant, at both high and low volumes. Very non-directional, like you are 'in' the music. I am quite happy with it.

Not so fast...

I have a new i-Pace. With ALL upgrades. 1st Edition, HSE, etc...

The sound system is good, solid, but NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.

I have heard MUCH BETTER. Now don't get it wrong. I'm coming from a Honda Truck so I'm delighted.

But just to set it straight. When I do get some extra $$$ I will upgrade to a better aftermarket system.

I only heard the system during a test drive so my experience is limited - but it struck me that it was better than the system in my BMW 650ix GC. This may be partly because the EV is so much quieter.

sound

I picked up my car last week, an HSE with upgraded sound. It seems a bit brighter and clearer at the high end on the radio than the sound in an upgraded sound system 535 bmw I had. As I did not hear their base sound unit, I can't compare it to that. The car itself is very much quieter, which I like. The touch screen however is laggy and slow and occasionally freezes completely. It needs a software update or a new processor. Electro

akrenn,

You may have a point here. Since it's all digital anyway. So... do you have an idea of the level of file produced by Spotify?

And if you know, what are the BEST file types. THANKS!!!

I agree completely. Spectacular in every way. Tesla Model S sound system sounds like a tin can compared to Meridian.
