Upgrade Ambient Lighting

My Jaguar does not have the option to change colors on the interior ambient lighting feature. Does anyone know if I can have the dealer install this option after taking delivery of my IPACE. The website says this is a $250 option and I am pretty sure this option is controlled by the computer and that every car already has the option built in and all it takes is an upgrade to the computer to activate.

Anyone else know if this is possible

I contacted the Encore Specialist at
Jaguar Land Rover and asked if ambient lighting could be added. I didn’t check the box when configuring my build and now regret it. The response was “the configurable is a factory installation.” 🙁

I don't get why dealers wouldn't spec that out for inventory.

I have a hard time understanding why anyone wants or needs this feature. I have it on two vehicles and only because it was on the car bought from dealer stock.

It's only visible at night. My concentration is on driving not admiring the different colors of ambient lighting possible.

It's one of those "set it, ignore it, and forget it" features.

Similar comment for the lighted sill plates.

Agreed. That is one feature on my FE that I turned off months ago and I haven't revisited.

I agree. My car had it and the kids liked to play with it, but it served no real purpose to me. I would have liked it better if it changed all the interior lighting.

I don't have this feature. However, some people like driving a Vegas casino

I don't even know if our car has this feature.

Photon FE, 2013 FR-S, 2014 Forester, and maybe going to get a Fiat 500e

I'm a fan - I don't change it frequently - but I find the "small" things you can do to make a ride your own are real bonuses. (Would I drive the car if it didn't have the feature - of course!)
