Cant get front hood to lock

Any suggestions?
Just got the car 2 days ago - drove it to work today and now I can't lock it because there is an error message saying the hood is unlocked.
I have opened and closed it several times but it still says its open
Thanks!!

See if there's a wire that came loose or the latch is misaligned?

I had to push down pretty hard on the corners of the hood to get it to completely latch when I opened it the other day

Had the same issue yesterday after work. Tried multiple times with varying levels of force but could hear the right side of the hood barely pop up with a small click after every attempt. Drove home with the dash showing "hood open" warning. Couldn't lock the car when I got home so called my sales person, he said to really slam the hood. I expressed my displeasure at having to do that in a $90K car as if it were a 20 year old truck but slammed it down really really hard anyway and the warning light went away. I went to the dealer this morning for an unrelated issue and the tech told me that it was a micro-switch that needs to be replaced (apparently it's a common Jaguar issue). He has ordered it, will let y'all know if that fixes this hood slamming nonsense.

Update - had to take car back to dealer - replacing a sensor. Seemingly an identified problem. No effort to close the hood hard or gently or pressing down either end worked.

Interesting, have never heard of any such issues on the European models. My "frunk" closes with very little effort and always has.

I had a similar issue, but in certain light I noticed that the hood in the center was slightly raised over the sides. I took it to the dealer and 1,2,3 they adjusted the rubber bump stoppers and all fixed.

Just to close the loop on this - my dealer replaced a micro-switch/sensor and the frunk open warning light now works fine. Although it still takes a bit more effort to close the frunk properly than I would like.

I do wish the bonnet worked more like the rear hatch and less like the hood of a 57 Chevy.
