[Except compressed by two thirds in length]

Yeah, my analogy was a large bit off in actual size. But, in terms of "clunkiness" and noise ... I think I was pretty "on".

Popped the frunck for first time in ages today. Same issue - could not lock car. Saw this recommendation and slammed it hard. Locked fine.
Touchy British cars. Sometimes they need a little encouragement.

I haven't had an occasion to open it for months. But I had no such problem back when I did.

You can adjust the little bumpers down a bit and you won't need to slam the hood quite so hard next time.

There is an expression to "give it a little English". Seems appropriate here!

I think that means to impart spin, like with a billiard ball.

I push it closed firmly.

Oh. I always assumed it was a polite way of being rude or pushy, like a gentle elbow prod to move out of the way or something. Thanks for the clarification.

The same thing happened to me once. I had to re open and slam it pretty hard to get the sensor to show closed. It has not happened again and I open my frunk about 5 times a week. I keep a squeegee in their that I use to clean the moisture from my windows in the morning.

Well, language is about usage, so if people know what you mean, have at it.

Or people kept trying to spin things because of you.
