If you want to change lanes, all you should have to do is put on the turn signal.

I have told my wife about this feature, but I just know she will come in one day in total shock and say that our I-Pace started steering itself. Then I will go through the basics with her again and calm her down. It will happen soon im sure

Doing so only takes about 3 seconds for it to re-engage on an interstate.

On Highways and parkways which can have significantly more aggressive turns the system has a hard time keeping up on the initial turn when it is more than 2 inch sudden deviation int he steering wheel. In those instances somewhat dangerously, it just gives up and tries to just plow straight ahead. Again a toggle and re-engage after the turn is completed works very well.

The 20 second hand reminder freaks my wife out when she hears the alarm, so I try to travel with my hand resting at the 6 o'clock position and just every so often wiggle to keep it from warning.

Anyone have any different experiences?
there are at least 4 steering assist programs:

Blind Spot Avoidance
Emergency Lane Keep
Lane Keep Assist (LKA)
Cruise Steering Assist (CSA)

I'm not really sure what Emergency Lane Keep does, as you can only turn it off or on. With Blind Spot Avoidance and LKA you can choose to get an alert or steering assist. Cruise Steering Assist is the one that is activated when the cruise control is set and controlled by the toggle on the lower right of the steering wheel. Both LKA & CSA disable when you activate the turn signal.

The system seems to work fine, although Volvo's and BMW's systems work quite a bit better. I really dislike that CSA disables without warning. I have had mine disable on a perfectly straight road, I assume it is when it doesn't recognize the edge line it turns itself off. The car also seems to 'hug' the line, generally on the left, versus centering on the lane. At times I find myself subconsciously countering the the car's auto steering to move the car to the center of the lane. It's fine, it stays within the lane, however it just seems to crowd the left side of the lane.

The correct term for JLR is Blind Spot Assist, not Blind Spot Avoidance.

What was weird, is that in all the I-Pace reviews I read, no magazine or blog tested the "Steering Assist by Jaguar". More was said about the radio than the all the safety systems combined.

Jaguar i-Pace FE Photon Red 20" wheels, "Leaper"
Two Chevrolet Volts in service
24.2 kW x 480v 3ph solar array self-installed.

Just wondering if the original poster got this issue resolved. Mine started doing this 2 days ago. Thoroughly washed the car, still no LKA green dashed lines on the lady hand side of dash. I initially got the error and press ok to clear, now I get nothing, no errors nothing. Very disconcerting.

I, after 190 miles, am getting the following notices: "Ok to Drive with Caution" 1) Autonomous Emergency Braking not available 2) Emergency Lane Keeping not available 3) Lane Keep Assist not available 4) Steering Assistance not available. Am taking in to service today. I can report back what the problem/fix is when I get it back. Thanks to this forum, I did ask if there was an Open Campaign. Yes! There is!! May be part of my problems. So thank you to whoever suggested using those words.

Currently at over 5200 miles and have had each of those warnings at least once. They have all self-resolved either during the drive or after the car was restarted. I’ve had no persistent problems and have not been back to the dealer since purchase.

I was so hoping that would be the case. I have restarted the car at least 3 times over as many days. Actually added one notice on the third time! Would be awesome for it to self-correct when I start it up today to take it in. But, there is an open campaign with the gateway module. Not sure what that does.

Bummer. I assume you’ve charged to 100% too? Let us know the outcome of the gateway module replacement. Hopefully you will leave with current software too (18D/15.2)!
