Strange I-Pace issue hours after delivery.

Hi Im Chris,
I just picked up my I-Pace today, and I already have a problem. Right now its sitting in my garage, the radio is on and wont turn off, the volume wont adjust either. And neither center screen will go on. I can start it and drive it, and the gauge screen works but the radio stays stuck on and the center screens off. I was sitting in it going through all the touch screen items to learn the system. I turned it off, and plugged it in, I decided to get back in to look at a few other things on the touch screen. I pressed the radio on/off button to see if I could just turn on the nav screen, at some point between that and hitting the start button while plugged in the error occurred. If any one can help Id be great full, Im so upset about this, I traded in a problematic 2016 Tesla Model X for this car, and I now appear to be back where I started 😢.

I don’t suppose you will gain any comfort in knowing this seems to be an increasingly common problem. 😁

On the European I-Pace Forums, where there a very large number on the road, it is being reported a lot. It appears the only fix is to have the dealer reinstall the software...

Sounds like strange is now the new norm.

But I hope not.

If there is anything plugged into a USB port, unplug it.
Put in Park, push ON/OFF button, get out, plug in the car and lock it.
Come out later, hit unlock, and remove the charge cord.
Open door, sit, hold brake down, press ON/OFF for 1 full second (watch a clock) min.
If the Jaguar screen comes up on the center stack display, touch the screen.
The center should be at Home (three boxes). Press the NAV bar. Wait for the GPS signal to fully lock on. Be patient, sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's slow.
The street map will come up when it locks.

Sometimes this goes fast, sometimes not, but a little patience pays off in stability. I have a hunch the Jaguar boots it's OS really slow sometimes.

@Meldev##44 , it’s touch screens, and all the software driven items attached to them. I also own a BMW i3 BEV, I’ve had it for four years, and nothing has gone wrong with it, it also has all physical controls.....

And, while I'm doing this, what do I need to be wearing? And, which animals are best to sacrifice?

Yeah, a bit wordy, but I used to write tech docs.

Basically, you need the car go completely off with no secondary computers trying to talk to it via USB. Seems Full Charge 100% helps clear it's memory of crap.
Then be aware that sometimes it boots instantly and sometimes it does not. I blame the infotainment and Nav. Why? I can hop in and blast off instantly, every time. But the displays might not work that trip.
Waiting until it fully boots works for me. If I don't care about the infotainment/NAV, I just hop in and blast off. If I care? I leave when the boot is complete.

Sorry to hear that. Just offering what I've found out.

I've had the blacked out center consoles. Bad USB stick caused it.
Had a "Traction Battery Warning". Full charge fixed it.
Had NAV not functioning. Waiting for full boot fixed it.
Had the temp knobs read in C instead of F. That happens at random.

Yup, take it in and have them reboot and reset it.
