Warning - Master PIN bug ( 4 digit password )

If you have reset your Master PIN when you first took delivery from the stock setting (I believe that's 1922 but I cannot find it in the manual as they claim) to your own 4 digit value, this is important.
The car might ask you to set your Master PIN before changing some settings, in particular Update Settings. HOWEVER, It might tell you to type in the Default PIN from the Owner's Manual. This is NOT correct for those who have already changed their Master PIN.

It actually wants the PIN you already assigned as the new Master PIN. You will only get 3 tries regardless of delay time it seems.

This bug did not exist in late Sept. Since they hide software versions, I cannot say which update triggered it.

The default PIN is 1926.

It is in the manual. Page 196 in mine.

It is in i-Guide. Search labeled the sections "MASTER PIN" and "PIN NUMBER: MASTER PIN". You also need to expand the note.

I was a guest on this forum for a week or so and was quite impressed by the volume of tips and advice from the membership that I requested to join. It's the little things like this Ayepace post that makes this forum so great. Members throwing ideas at each other and willing to do the research to assist folks to solve some difficult issues. I can't count the number of people who've provided excellent ideas that make driving the I-Pace a fun experience. Thanks!
