Hey everyone. Been lurking for awhile but have decided to join up. I'm still on the fence about buying my first EV, but the I-Pace is looking to put most of my concerns to rest. Just out of curiosity what is the average range that you guys are seeing on a full charge? Recommended home stations?

The average range seems to be a hard number to pinpoint from what I have read.
Once people start receiving and driving we should have a better idea.
My local dealer had a ChargePoint demo unit in the showroom for display.
Also had 2 chargers in front of the showroom.

the EPA numbers still don't exist. Cold cuts EV range drastically. and I don't think anyone in the USA has taken delivery yet to get real world on it...

But don't let that scare you. I loved my Model S, and my wife's Model 3 is AHHMAZING. Did you see the version 9 firmware that hit this week? Autolane change! This is nuts.

I dig the ipace, and in a bubble it's great, but I think I love tech too much to abandon Tesla. That and Hey Jaguar... Show me the Super Chargers! Show Me the Super Chargers.

That other company... Elio? Or what's the name just announced that via the deiselgate settlement they will be getting chargers.
Ohh it's Lucid.

As for going EV. It's awesome. Every day you start with a full go and the acceleration is so much fun.

You will probably want 30 amp or 32 amp rated and needs a 40 amp 240 volt circuit for power. You can go larger but will not be utilized by I-Pace. Smaller is rating is OK although it will extend the time to charge.

Basic I recommend ClipperCreek. Light and flexible cord. They all have a pigtail so not a perfectly clean look if that is what you are after.

Leviton is good. Chargepoint has a bunch of connected features if you are into that.

Basically they all work fine. Be sure you get a 25' cord if needed... some just have 18'.

The i-Pace I saw in Newport Beach, Calif, had an included EVSE that would accept NEMA 14-50. So it's probably Level 2, or over 6kW charging.
I'd install a NEMA 14-50 outlet where you think you'll park. All kinds of L2 chargers are available with 14-50 plugs. I would not buy another hardwired EVSE. I have a Bosch, a Clipper Creek, and a Juicebox. Only my Juicebox is 14-50 (40a).
Then you can recharge at RV campgrounds that have hookups.

Jaguar i-Pace FE Photon Red 20" wheels, "Leaper"
Two Chevrolet Volts in service
24.2 kW x 480v 3ph solar array self-installed.

I apologize if this is a 'dumb' question; however given there is apparently a serious lack of fast chargers in my area, am I understanding you correctly that I can buy a 'portable' charger and just need to find a suitable 240V outlet to plug it into giving me a 'mobile' fast charging station?

What do campgrounds charge you to plug in to their system?

Thank you.

If it helps, this is from the Jaguar I-Pace manual.
“Make sure that the AC charging cable meets standard SAE J1772”

Myself, I originally purchased the Juicebox, but then when Jaguar came out with there recommendations I purchased the ChargePoint hard wired charger.

Is there any reason why the Juicebox wouldn't work as well as the ChargePoint?
