Jaguar I-Pace Concept Visits The CIAS

Currently underway, the Jaguar’s first-ever all-electric vehicle made an appearance at the 2018 Canadian International Autoshow (CIAS) and show goers can get relatively close to the I-Pace while it sits on a pedestal.

Unfortunately, the prototype is fenced off from the public and even we were unable to get a good look at the car’s interior. What we did walk away with is a new appreciation for the I-Pace’s design. Of course there’s the bold exterior elements including a set of distinct tail and headlights, flush door handles, sleek grille, unique air ducts and baby blue/green trim.

One item that did stand out to us was the I-Pace concept’s aerodynamic hood scoop. At first glace, it just looks like an indent in the hood and we didn’t look into it all that much. After taking a closer look at the front grille with an illuminated Jaguar badge, it was obvious that the scoop draws in air from a gap above the grille. Hard to see from certain angles, one would have to squat down and look upwards to find the front gap.

Of course much will be changed in the production ready model and we’ll have to wait for the I-Pace’s official debut in March to find out what those updates are.

Shame Jaguar didn't reveal any more information at CIAS, though i do understand why with its official debut coming up very soon. The hood scoop bit is pretty interesting because I don't think anyone has gotten that close to notice it, or they didn't find it all that important.

Well that concept is still looking great, and I believe we're getting a full reveal on March 1st. Hopefully not too much has changed with the production model and I'm eager to take a crack at their build page. I hope it delivers on the rumored 45 minute charge time, because that's a big step forward for electric technology.

Too bad the entire display is static and not rolling like what they did in the U.S.
It seems that Canadian shows get the short end of the stick which is unfortunate seeing how close most of these shows are to the Canada/US boarder.
